At the end of January 2020 Prescreen will stop supporting Internet Explorer 10. Users trying to access Prescreen from IE10 after the update will be requested to update or switch the browser. We will continue to support in IE11. If you are still using IE10, this article will provide you with the necessary information.
We are using the latest techniques and innovative technologies to build Prescreen. This allows us to build a state of the art software: fast, reliable, extendable and most importantly easy to use for our customers. Being a SaaS application we are regularly revising the range of browsers and browser versions compatible with the technologies we use and the costs of delivering this compatibility.
The decision to phase out IE10 support comes after Microsoft announced it would no longer support older versions of the browser in 2016. Since then maintaining IE10 meant piling up the technical debt at the cost of stability and new features development for our engineering team at Prescreen. Microsoft itself officially declares IE as generally outdated and not behaving according to the modern web standards (read more about the perils of using IE as your default browser).
During the last year we haven’t recorded any incoming traffic from IE10, which reassured our intention to drop the support for this IE version.
In case you are required to use a Microsoft browser, we suggest for you to either update your Internet Explorer to the latest version or to use Edge. Prescreen supports all modern browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari.
If you have questions regarding this switch, please get in touch with our support team at support@prescreen.io.
